Four weddings, a funeral and a christening

Workshop leader: Duncan McPherson

In our increasingly secular society, the only time some people attend a church service is for a wedding, christening or funeral. How can we, as preachers, use these opportunities to share the gospel in an engaging and effective way?
In this workshop, the Revd Dr Duncan MacPherson will look at how we can use these preaching opportunities to connect with those who have chosen the church to mark life's significant events.
Duncan is a Roman Catholic Permanent Deacon and is the Features Editor of The Preacher. He taught Theology for many years at Saint Mary’s University, Twickenham. His publications include “The Splendour of the Preachers” (2011) and “The Pilgrim Preacher” (2005).
